Information about Oytun
I am a full-time professional maths tutor with a first-class Mathematics degree and teacher training from Oxford University, with over 8,000 hours of individual face-to-face and online tutoring experience.
I tutor maths at primary and secondary levels, including Key Stages 1, 2 & 3, GCSEs and A-level maths for all major exam boards, as well as exam preparation for entry to private and grammar schools.
Availability: I offer face-to-face maths lessons for my clients in North London, in my office or in their home for their convenience, as well as online lessons delivered with an industry-leading technology suite.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have nine years of full-time experience as a private tutor, alongside previous work as a maths teacher in two Oxfordshire secondary schools. My students consistently achieve or exceed their target grades, with several gaining admission to Oxford and Cambridge.
Confidence plays a crucial role in a students success, and I focus on building this gradually through patient and supportive teaching. I always emphasise to students the reasoning behind mathematical concepts rather than simply having them memorise methods - when a student truly understands how something works, they retain it more effectively and develop a greater appreciation for maths. I`m passionate about teaching and continuously refine my pedagogical skills through research, professional development, and reflection.

Oytun is an excellent tutor who listens and encourages gradual development, resulting in greater confidence and achievement. Oytun is easy to get on with and makes Mathematics interesting which allowed my son to appreciate the subject and rise to the challenges in order to achieve a better result at GCSE. Thank you Oytun for your valued commitment, interest and genuine dedication.

I didnt think he was a brilliant tutor. On the day that I came to his address, he gave me the wrong one and wasted half my time. Also when it came down to teaching, I thought he wasnt really a skilled teacher. When it came down to showing me the questions, he simply tried to divert the subject and told me to figure it out on my own, which I found very discouraging. I felt further insulted when he told me to treat this as exam conditions which I already do know on th day and only simply wanted to know from him on how to resolve the harder maths question. Hence I will not be using him any further. Thanks.
