Golnoosh

Hello! I am Golnoosh and I specialise in Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics tuition up to GCSE. I myself achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths, A* in GCSE Further Maths, and 9-9-9 in the GCSE triple sciences. I completed my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and achieved 3 A*s.

I always aim to deliver the best possible lessons to my students, and to do this I have also undertaken multiple tutor training courses. I have seen tremendous improvements in my current students - for example, one GCSE student who was at a grade 4 is now at a grade 7 after they started working with me.

Since I am currently on a gap year and have already secured an offer to study medicine, my schedule is very open, so I will most likely be able to do any days/times you require. I will also be tutoring long-term throughout my time at university.

I myself tried many tutors throughout my time at school, and realised that the best ones were those who tailored the lessons and their teaching style to my specific needs, e.g. using more visual diagrams, or listing things succinctly, or explaining things verbally. This is exactly the approach I wish to take with students as I believe it produces the best outcome. I will always ensure that the content covered in lessons is relevant to the student`s requirements. For maths I have the most experience with Edexcel, and AQA for sciences, however I teach all other exam boards also.

Maths and science were always my favourite subjects in school, and I convey my enthusiasm for these subjects through my lessons (it doesn`t have to be boring!). Since I am quite an independent learner I have tried many studying and revision techniques overtime, and have come to discover that active recall and regularly doing past paper questions is what helps to remember content long term.

Experience: Throughout my time at Sixth Form, I was chosen by heads of departments to tutor GCSE students struggling with Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics and help them better prepare for their exams. This was mainly done through practising exam questions. Their grades were improved significantly. Aside from this, I was also appointed to be Maths and Science Ambassador throughout Sixth Form.
