After obtaining my PhD in History in 2013, I spent four years as a university lecturer. During the breaks between university semesters, I began to tutor GCSE and A-Level students, and this is where I discovered a real passion for teaching at the secondary school level.

In 2017 I subsequently left my lecturing position and began teaching at a London secondary school rated `Outstanding` by Ofsted and designated a Centre of Excellence by the DfE. In 2018 I was awarded QTS (rated Outstanding) and a PGCE (with Distinction), and in 2019 I was made Assistant Subject Lead for History and R.S. (all Key Stages) and Designated Lead for KS5.

In the same year I was also given the additional responsibility of mentoring and coaching trainee teachers for a national SCITT programme, and last year I was made a `Subject Expert` in the same programme, giving me the responsibility for designing and delivering training programmes to trainee History and R.S. teachers across the country.

I have taught a variety of abilities, from SEND classes to Oxbridge preparation.
I strive not only to help students learn what they need to succeed in school and university, but I also encourage their independence and resilience, equipping them with study skills they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
