Information about Razan
Hi.
Thank you for visiting my profile and taking your time to read through it.
I am a currently a year 2 teacher and a Re Co-ordinator at a good school in Hanger Lane. I graduated with a 2.1 in 2013 with a BSc in Psychology. I then went onto doing my Primary PGCE at the Institute of Education (UCL) where I also successfully graduated in 2016.
Teaching for me is a way of life and not a job. I have a passion to support every child to progress academically and emotionally and to achieve their full potential.
I have currently been tutoring for five years and all of my tuition lessons follow the National Curriculum expectations. In order for the children to gain even extra support, I provide the children with homework to support our learning for that day.
For my first session, I use this as a guide to see where the children are academically. I assess them in a variety of areas and focus on planning future tutorials from the assessments I have made. My tutorials can be to up to two or three students at a time.
My tutorials include a focus on two particular subjects: Maths and Literacy.
Literacy includes:
Letter formation/ Handwriting skills.
To write and plan a creative piece of writing.
Reading different texts and answering comprehension questions.
Spellings, Punctuation and Grammar
Maths includes:
Number formation
Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Word problems and statistics
Fractions and Numbers
Times tables

Experience: I have been working in an educational setting for a number of years. Five of those years being a qualified teacher in Year 2. My main aim as a Year 2 teacher is to prepare the children for their SATs test. In order for a child to pass this test, I organise a number of interventions and support lessons in addition to the classes we already have, to help each and every child succeed in their learning and reach their full potential. I have also worked with children with a variety of learning disabilities prior to this and this has helped me build a much better awareness on the many barriers that children have in their learning today.
