I am a very positive and skilled maths teacher. I love bringing maths to life for pupils at all levels. I particularly like helping pupils accelerate their learning and gain confidence in their own skills so that they can continue to improve independently.

I have many years of experience in supporting pupils with dyslexia and other learning difficulties including fear of maths (which is a big barrier for adults) so that they achieve the success they need to progress in life.

I teach all levels including KS2, KS3, GCSE Numeracy, AS/A level Maths all units, AS/A level Use of Maths all units.
I teach with purpose, explaining and bringing the curriculum and data to life. I get pupils to track their progress so that they become aware of their strengths and overcome difficult areas. I highlight connections between the areas of maths and show how they are used in life and work.

Availability: I am available any time after 16.00 and Friday morning.

Experience: I taught maths at all levels for 12 years at sixth form college. This included A level, GCSE and Numeracy. I taught adults at night school as well. I became head of department and researched the best methods for improving exam performance. I studied methods of supporting dyslexia and dyscalculia and put this into practice with great success.
I always had one or two private maths pupils because focusing on individual pupils taught me a huge amount on how to adapt teaching methods to individual learners. I was also able to take on pupils for degree level support.
I moved to teaching in secondary after a location move and have five years experience of this. I also taught IT for 2 years and continued to use IT in teaching maths.
