Information about Anna-marie
I am a 5th year medical student at the University of Leeds and also have a BSc in Clinical Anatomy. At A-Level and GCSE I achieved A* grades and it has been one of my favourite subjects throughout school. I am very hard-working, approachable and friendly and work in a methodical way to solve problems through ensuring a basic level of understanding in order to build on further knowledge.
Availability: Evenings and weekends
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have worked with students teaching Biology at GCSE and A-Level working on exam technique and understanding of course content leading to successful results. I have taught revision sessions in anatomy to 2nd year medical students involving tutoring to small groups. I also participate in the Widening Access to Medicine course offered by the university, which works with groups of year 12 students working to develop things such as interview skills, personal statements, running sessions similar to teaching sessions experienced during medical school. I am also a snowboard instructor so have had experience teaching both groups and individuals, and understand the importance of being patient and clear explanations.
The way I tutor largely reflects the way I learn - so ensuring a good basis of understanding looking at textbooks, school notes. I also look at the syllabus to ensure what is learnt is appropriate and nothing is missed. I am quite a visual learner so can draw diagrams and pictures etc. to help if a tutee feels they would benefit from this. I also understand the importance of giving good constructive feedback to develop your answers as much as possible and improve confidence.
