I am a PhD Zoology student, and hold a Master`s degree in Zoology with Marine Zoology (First Class honours). I am a huge fan of the three sciences, mostly biology. I find great enjoyment in helping others and am a bubbly, engaging and approachable individual who loves to teach. My long-term goal is to complete my PhD, lecture at universities and conduct conservation-based research in the future. As a shark specialist, I currently educate children and adults alike on how we can make a positive difference with regard to looking after our ecosystems.

Experience: I am currently a PhD Zoology candidate at Stellenbosch University, and a Shark Specialist with White Shark Diving Company. My endeavours working as a research and conservation volunteer in South Africa with the White Shark Diving Company included public outreach such as visiting schools and teaching local children about wildlife, raising awareness of human impacts on the environment and the effects of plastic pollution, which I draw great fulfilment out of.
I have previously worked as a Maths & English Tutor for children between the ages of 4-16 and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to make a positive difference in their educational progress. My approach had to be versatile to fit in with the needs of different children`s` learning methods and through this I developed exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
Previously, I was a member of the Air Training Corps for 6 years and reached the rank of Sergeant. Here I was able to grow my ability to lead, discipline, use my own initiative, work collaboratively and remain resilient in stressful situations. I have also completed my Gold Practice Duke of Edinburgh Award.
