Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology student and the University of Cambridge with two years` experience in teaching chemistry and mathematics from KS3 to KS5. I have taught students wishing to achieve a range of target outcomes at GCSE and A level by offering practice interviews to those seeking further study on leaving sixth form, and mentoring students who have recently struggled or underperformed with topic tests.
Many problems in maths can be explained in more than one way, and I am confident in using both algebraic and graphical tools to help students tackle the content on their own terms. For chemistry students, I often ask questions about work students might have done in the lab to probe understanding, and I may write additional work to support student progression between scheduled lessons. I am used to receiving queries about niche topics or past paper questions between lessons for which I write sample solutions, or use as opportunities to direct the next session.
