Hello and welcome!

I am a fully qualified English Teacher, Mentor, AQA Examiner and Tutor with 6 years experience in teaching both English language and Literature from KS2 to A-level with a track record of securing the highest grades for students. My areas of expertise include transition to secondary school, entrance exam preparation, KS3, GCSE Language and Literature, A level Language and A Level Literature and UCAS applications.

Throughout my time teaching, not only have I inspired my students to develop a love and passion for literature but my students have obtained some outstanding grades which have enabled them to not only enhance their knowledge, comprehension and literacy skills but obtain results which have enabled students to firmly secure a place in their chosen college or university course. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with young people and encouraging those who have no interest in the subject, develop excellent reading and writing skills; even reluctant readers, with the right encouragement, can go on to excel in external exams.

Availability: I can travel to your home, or I am happy to welcome students to study at my house. Alternatively, I am able to offer online tuition for those living further away.

Experience: I am currently employed as an English Teacher in an `Outstanding` school in Manchester. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities and within my tutoring, I take a holistic approach to teaching my students, listening to them and their parents, pacing and differentiating in whatever way necessary to enable everyone to thrive! I also support students who wish to be stretched and challenged further in order to achieve the highest grades possible.
I am also an experienced AQA English language and Literature Examiner and therefore have a clear insight into what the examination boards are looking for, how to strategically approach the question and what students must include in order to succeed.
I also have a TEFL qualification and have worked closely with EAL and SEN students in order for them to access and excel in the English curriculum.
