Information about Jeremy
I have been a Lead Practitioner of English in secondary schools for the last 10 years. I specialise in motivating, managing and enthusing students that other teachers find difficult. I have worked as a journalist, musician and DJ before going into teaching, which helps me to make my lessons engaging and relevant.
Availability: Evenings only, at the moment (as I work full-time in a secondary school)
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I qualified in 1998 and have been a full-time English teacher since then. My results are regularly in the top 5% across the school, according to progress data. I have also been a literacy leader, `Love of Reading Champion` and I have recently completed a `National Professional Qualification in Leading Literacy` course. My favourite authors are Toni Morrison and Andrea Levy, and I decided to become a teacher whilst reading `Catcher in the Rye`, which is a major influence.
