I am qualified Health and Social Care Lecturer, with over 25 Years of Health and Social Care Practice in Mental Health, Addiction and Elder Care. I have been teaching since 2013 and trained health care staff previously to this, and I especially enjoy student centred teaching.

I have taught all levels of Students from Higher to HNC and Undergraduate, and have been involved in writing courses for private online providers and the SQA, having been a marker for Level five Social Care papers.
My philosophy is straight forward, I beleive anyone can learn, we just have to work in partnership and find everyones right learning path.
When I teach, I do not just deliver the core topics, I try and include the soft skills you will need for a career, such as critical thinking, research, ethics, and person centred thinking, I often ask my students to reflect and undertake related research.

Experience: I have taught all types of students, from many nationalities, and have worked within Health and Social Care as a lecturer, Nurse, Therapist, and well being officer, teaching and tutoring in Erasmus + projects in many eastern European partner countries, as well as in the UK in Colleges and with private education providers.
Within these roles I have always taught Health and Social Care topics, addiction and mental health related topics, and empowerment.
Specifically, I have taught from SQA national levels through 5 and 6 to full HNC courses, and I have also developed and written resources and courses not only for private providers, but for the SQA. I was invited on several occasions to mark SQA Health and Social Care Level 5 papers at their exam marking events, and I am currently involved in yearly reviews for a large well known online course provider which involves developing new material, and updating existing material. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies, a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, a Post Graduate Diploma in Alcohol and Drug Studies, as well as a post Graduate TQFE, and certificates in supporting Distance learning .
