Hello, my name is Helena and I am a tutor for Chemistry A Level students. I am friendly and keen to pass on my knowledge and experiences to help build your confidence and understanding of Chemistry.

I am currently third year DPhil student carrying out research in Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford. I studied Chemistry, Maths and Physics to A Level achieving A*A*A*, with an A in Biology at AS Level. I then went on to study for a Masters in Chemistry at the University of Oxford and graduated in 2017.

Learning styles are very individual and I am adaptable to help you discover how you learn best. In addition to covering core material, I will help build an understanding of exam technique. It is important to have a work life balance and I feel that I can pass on techniques on how to be both thorough and efficient at studying, which I have learnt through engaging with university rowing and skiing teams during my degree.

I am very excited to start tutoring and would love to pass on what I have learnt.

Availability: I am currently not tutoring this academic year 20/21.

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: I am relatively new to tutoring but I have experience doing workshops at schools teaching parts of the Chemistry A Level syllabus (spectroscopy). I also have helped supervise undergraduate chemists with Laboratory skills and thesis writing.
