I am currently a undergraduate student at the University of St. Andrews who has currently just finished their first year of studies in computer science.

Experience: During my A-level studies, my teacher suggested me to provide computer science tutoring to a GCSE student at the secondary school which I attended. In these sessions, I was tasked with just teaching some programming in Python but upon seeing how well the student was engaging in the programming and their desire to further their understanding, I began incorporating lessons on the theory side of computer science and demonstrating the links it has to the practical element which helped strengthen understanding in both areas.
I also have experience in coaching ice hockey to young and new players which has given me a greater understanding on the process of teaching new skills as well as refining old ones such as the importance of adapting different styles of teaching depending on how the method which the student find the most effective.
