Information about Fay
*I am presently reviewing availability - please message me directly for updated information*
I am a graduate of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth obtaining my BSc (Hons) in Geography and obtained my PGCE at the University of Southampton. I was awarded a scholarship to read Geography in 2005 having taken two entrance exams, achieving 100% in the Geography exam and 98% in the Biology exam. Both scholarship exams were undertaken in essay form.
My approach to learning is very much how I apply my own CPD, as I am continually topping up on the latest changes within different geographical fields to enable my case study knowledge to be on point.
I have experience teaching students from a variety of EAL subjects including Spanish, Polish, Russian and Bulgarian - and have successfully created bilingual resources to enable these students to progress.
Availability: Presently I am taking enquiries for the following session availabilities:
General revision
Holiday intensive sessions - 2/3 hour block sessions to build subject knowledge
Skype or Zoom Tuition: by arrangement
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: For the past three years, I have been working as Deputy SENDCo within a mainstream secondary setting, following several years in senior leadership, including Deputy Headteacher and Head of Department roles.
I have over a decade of experience teaching and supporting students aged 1119 across both mainstream and alternative provision environments. My subject specialisms include Geography (1119), alongside whole-school leadership responsibilities such as literacy initiatives, adaptive teaching, and inclusion strategy.
Throughout my career, I have developed a strong track record of securing positive GCSE and A Level outcomes, as well as supporting students to make accelerated progress through targeted intervention, revision, and exam-preparation work.
My current SEND leadership role has further strengthened my ability to identify barriers to learning, personalise support, and help students develop the confidence and strategies needed to maximise their potential in examinations.
As a former Head of Department and current Deputy SENDCo, I am highly experienced in delivering revision, catch-up, and exam technique sessions, and I am passionate about helping every young person reach their full potential in their upcoming examinations.
