I have been tutoring English, History, Latin, Greek, Ancient History and Classical Civilisation for over five years and have taught a wide range of ages and abilities, including a number of home school contracts, often with students with SEN. With all my students though, I find that their learning is always most effective when they are finding the experience personally rewarding, with an understanding of what the skills they are building will help them do in their future lives. To this end, I always try to create a three-way conversation between parent, student and myself to ensure we are planning lessons with tangible short and long term goals, that strike a balance between hard work and ensuring that learning is enjoyable. So much of an individual’s education is embroiled in how they see themselves and how they are growing as people; I believe that my sensitivity to this makes me a good teacher.

I also hold significant experience in Oxbridge prep and have helped a number of students find their voice in their personal statements and given them the confidence to hold themselves in an interview.

When I`m not teaching, I`m writing screenplays for film and television. I love tutoring because I find it both stimulating and rewarding. I love the time and space that one-to-one tuition offers to discuss texts, histories, languages or cultures, and I always hope that some of these passions rub off onto my students!

Experience: 5 years and 2000+ hours tutoring experience including multiple home schooling placements through the company Bright Young Things. I have taught English Literature, English Language, Latin, Ancient History and Ancient Greek from KS2 up to A-level and worked with students with a range of abilities and SEN needs.
