My name is Emma and I am a professionally trained actor, singer and theatre maker with a passion for literature, arts and teaching. I hold a First Class Honours degree from Goldsmiths, University of London and have recently completed my masters with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music. As well as directing, writing and performing, I thoroughly enjoy teaching and take great pride in helping others achieve both their academic and personal goals. I have been trained and have experience in teaching drama and hold an LRAM (The Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music) teaching qualification for one-on-one tuition. From my previous experience and training, I have an excellent understanding of the principles of teaching and possess the skills and the personal attributes required to be an engaging and successful tutor. Being both an academic and creative, I seek exciting methods for tutoring whilst ensuring that the student has a solid understanding of the subject matter.

As well as being a creative, I have a fervent interest in Literature and excel in analysis and academic writing. At University and A Level, I excelled in essay writing, dissertations and delivering presentations and at GCSE, I received an award from examination board AQA for having achieved the top five percent in the country for English Literature and Media Studies. I love to share my passion of books, plays and poetry with young people in the hope that they too develop the same enjoyment alongside the skills and knowledge for academic requirements.

I have been tutoring GCSE English Literature and Language for two academic years with on average, my students progressing from a level 5 (C) to a level 7/8 (A). After completing GCSEs, a number of students have continued lessons for UCAS applications, CV building, general application and interview coaching.

My singing and drama students have been submitted for and achieved Music and LAMDA grades. I also aid students who are applying for Drama Schools, providing monologue coaching and repertoire building.

I am very happy to travel or deliver Skype sessions.
