Information about Eishar

My intersectionalities / unique character / neurodivergencies provide an interesting approach to life.
I have achieved a Mechanical Engineering (Hons) degree and I was sponsored through my company to complete an apprenticeship for an MSc in Offshore Wind Energy Engineering over 3 years. I am also working towards my chartership with the IMechE.
At work, I led my fellow graduates with initiatives to connect with upcoming STEM students - I am inspired to share my knowledge and enthusiasm to ensure people can hone into their qualities and be the best version of themselves ✨;;;;

My tutoring style is fluid and adaptable, I would love understanding how you work before diving straight in - this ensures what I communicate across will efficiently enter your brain as knowledge = powerrrr 🔥;;;;

1 hour blocks will be split into timed chunks, following a loose structure:
-questions and tutorial work recap = reinforcement of the work we’ve already done and to ensure confidence
-highlights of what they’ve learnt in class and where they’d like to improve
-example questions and workings, with annotated notes to help understand the process
-curriculum overview of progress to date (gantt chart style for long-term tutoring)
-tutorial work (homework questions in an applied style)
-Any Other Business (AOB)

^this will vary for each individual and session

I love to solve problems; have experience with conveying technical information into non-technical jargon; highly self-aware of my learning and teaching routes (I use diagrams and hand actions a lot) and will ensure you feel comfortable and safe within the tutoring environment to learn effectively :)

Availability: 4/5 weekdays - i am flexible :)

I like planning a lot so I prefer reasonable notice and feedback - this allows the best for both tutee and tutor to continuously improve!

[also my name is pronounced eishar like shisha!]

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: At school, I volunteered at a lot of open days and was able to answer questions honestly / solve problems if I didn’t know the answer; I’ve tutored year 7/8 kids when i was in year 12 by doing maths tutoring at school; I looked after new kids starting school and made them feel welcomed; I worked with my uni to enrol students in IT and Engineering; I have been involved in STEM fairs for primary and secondary school kids with my work to advertise Renewable Energy and Offshore Wind; I have gone into schools through work / had the opportunity to share my first hand experience as a graduate within the Engineering world to younger students who are interested to pursue a STEM career; and I have had strangers listen to me help my friends on public transport with CV’s and they’ve asked if I can help them! :)

I have a NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification;
I have completed my IPMA-D in Project management;
I have GWOs for practical wind turbine safety;
and more if you’re interested :)
