I have been a qualified MFL teacher for 24 years, working mainly in state secondary schools within the north east, but I have also taught languages in the primary sector. I hold a BA Joint Honours degree in German and French (2:i). Recent tutoring experience has included French and German to primary level and I have taught both German and French to all key stages in school full-time for the last 24 years. I am now offering private MFL tuition. I live in County Durham and love spending time with my family, cinema, swimming and meeting friends for a chat in cafes. I am a keen reader of German novels and love watching German films. Travelling is also a passion, when time allows!

I always aim to tailor my sessions to the needs and desires of my students, whether that is in preparation for a formal examination, to close gaps in learning, to prepare for a holiday abroad - or whether it is just to start a new hobby. Learning a language can be useful for the world of work, for keeping us mentally fit, can improve our confidence and, above all, can be fun for learners of all ages!
