Information about Holly

Hey there!

I`m Holly and I`m based in East London. I`m a friendly and reliable tutor, offering support in the following subjects: Anthropology, History, Geography, Sociology and Politics. I`m available for lesson in-person or face-to-face.

I`m currently studying for my PhD in Social Anthropology on a full studentship at the London School of Economics. I bring a wide range of experiences to my tutoring, notably my experience working in political education. Four years ago, I founded a pan-European political education collective, which has worked across European social movements supporting groups working on climate change, feminist issues and land justice organisations to develop their knowledge of historical and present days colonialism(s). This work has led to me to create educational materials and deliver workshops to a broad range of audiences across several countries in Northern Europe, solidifying my commitment to creative and collaborative educational methodologies. Other relevant experiences include working as teacher for the charity Just Enough, which existed to deliver educational workshops in schools on key social issues such as climate, racism and LBGTQ+, and as a case worker for asylum seekers in the care system. I hold a MA in Social Anthropology from SOAS, where I wrote my thesis on anti-policing movements in the UK. I have published work in The Guardian, Philosophy Today and Antipode Journal of Radical Geography and am an organiser in several movements in the UK and across Europe.

I like to work in a collaborative style with each student. This means discovering together how you like to learn, building bespoke teaching packages around your individual needs. I will encourage students to engage with their curriculum in a critical, reflexive manner, ensuring they meet every requirement of their course, whilst encouraging further study that will help them really stand out, from exams to university applications.
