Information about Gemma
I have been a private tutor of GCSE English for nine years now. I have a 100% pass rate to date and an exceptional record of results. Last summer, the majority of my students attained a two to four grade increase, with some of them leaping from a grade 3 to a grade 7, a grade 4 to a grade 8, and a grade 6 to a grade 9. I am a fully qualified English teacher with an `Outstanding` PGCE, a First Class Honours in English and an MA in English Renaissance Literature from a Russell Group university. I have a real passion and enthusiasm for all aspects of English, and I have been studying and teaching the subject for a number of years now. In addition to my subject knowledge and qualifications, I am a friendly and approachable person, and can adapt easily to any situation. I have a very positive and encouraging approach, and will always go that extra mile for my students.
I have a very flexible approach to tutoring, and always tailor the teaching and learning to the individual student`s needs and requirements. Together with the student, I will devise a learning plan to ensure that lessons are structured, progress is monitored and the student gets the maximum out of each session. I have always approached teaching with a level of creativity and innovation, and this enables me to adapt my style and method to suit and engage each individual learner. I also believe that confidence and self-belief are essential to the learning process, and I always strive to develop this in my students.

Experience: My last teaching post was in 2014, and since then, my time has been devoted to private tuition. I know all of the exam boards for GCSE English inside and out (AQA, Eduqas, Edexcel, OCR, iGCSE), and I have created a plethora of learning resources and practice papers for each.
I have taught GCSE and A-level English in several sixth form colleges throughout West Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire, and I`ve taught in a comprehensive secondary school in Leeds.
My private tuition also extends to A-level and degree-level students across all English subjects.

She is a great tutor, very approachable, very enthusiastic and bubbly which, are the kind of vibes that need a tutor possessed to make the lesson fun to learn. Although, my son only have been learning with Gemma for several weeks, he actually enjoy every the lessons every time and find she is very helpful. It is still early days to say that my son have made dramatic progress but I am positively sure that he will be by continuing learning with Gemma. I would definitely recommend her to any students.

I struggled to pass English for 3 years and kept resitting English. Until I came to Gemma, took me 3 months and she worked her magic and i passed. Best English teacher i`ve ever had.

My daughter really enjoys working with Gemma and has progressed very well. She has recently sat her mock GCSE exams and gained a 9 in English Literature, I have to say without Gemma`s tuition I don`t believe this would have been possible.
