I have a passion for teaching and am a creative and experienced English Native Speaker and tutor. I coach students of all nationalities and ages. I have an Honours Degree in English and Psychology (2:1) and am a qualified Adult Education tutor. I teach ESOL, EFL and IELTs as well as Wellbeing courses. In my ESOL classes at college I recently had a 98% pass rate for learners taking entry level ESOL exams and have helped numerous students to achieve GCSE passses.
I began my career working in the NHS as a psychologist helping individuals and running groups on stress management and confidence-building. I have also worked as a mentor and tutor to university and college students. A key strength for my English tuition or coaching is an ability to form good working relationships with students and clients built on mutual trust and rapport. I provide face to face or skype and telephone sessions for distance learners.

Experience: I have been teaching English to classes and individual students and adults of all nationalities, ages and levels since 2005. I teach at British Council accredited English Language summer schools based at universities and colleges across the UK. I help to oversee placement tests in written and oral skills that students sit on arrival to place them into one of four levels from elementary to upper intermediate. I have conducted end of course tests, written reports and given out certificates. In class the focus is on improving oral fluency and confidence in speaking as well as written work. Students have fun learning through doing a variety of projects, role play activities and presentations. I offer private English tuition to post graduate International students and professionals either living and working in the UK and can offer proofreading and exam preparation as well as conversational English.
