Information about Fiona
Hello!
I am a highly experienced and successful primary school practitioner, with specialist expertise in Maths and Key Stage 2 SAT`s, who has been consistently graded as `outstanding` by external assessors.
My philosophy for education is quite simple, to ensure the best education for every child by ensuring that each has access to consistently outstanding teaching and additional opportunities that provides a memorable long lasting education and a love of learning.
Whilst teaching in Early Years, OFSTED graded the teaching and learning in my classroom as `excellent`. Since moving to Key Stage 2, 99% of the children that I have taught Maths to across Year 6 have attained a Level 4 and of those over 50% have achieved a Level 5. I have also successfully taught children who have achieved a Level 6.
In a recent survey of my current tutees parents, 100% would recommend me to another parent. 100% strongly agreed that the work set is appropriate, their child enjoys working with me and that their child feels happy and safe with me. Additional comments included I am very pleased with Fionas tutoring skills and it is evident that she is a very talented teacher and Fiona has a great relationship with my children and they look forward to her coming each week.
I am currently offering a range of tuition packages, including `Ready for School` sessions for pre-school children, 1:1 tuition across the primary age range, small group tuition sessions, specialist SAT programmes for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, homework sessions, and parental `Help Your Child at School` sessions. All my tuition is in line with the revised National Curriculum of September 2014.
I currently tutor children from age 4 to age 14 in both English and maths.
Your child`s first lesson is `free of charge` and is used as an assessment and fact finding session, whereby parents can share their aims of tutoring and information is gathered to provide a bespoke learning programme.
For parents with concerns about their children, I am able to provide a comprehensive range of assessments to check reading, spelling, maths, language skills, and memory and processing skills.
I have a comprehensive information file containing DBS check, references, qualifications, insurance policies and other relevant documentation for your own security and `piece of mind`.
Availability: Afternoons after 1pm and evenings, and during school holidays.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: I have taught for over 20 years across the primary age range, but have developed specialisms within Year 5 and Year 6, in particular Maths.
I also have a wide experience of working with children with special educational needs, including children on the autistic spectrum, children with dyslexia, children with communication difficulties and children with moderate learning difficulties. In addition, I have been a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) for over 10 years, working with a variety of external agencies, both educational and medical.
