I am 57 years old and live in Fleet, Hampshire with my partner. I originally come from New Zealand and have been living in the UK for the last thirty five years. I have two grown up children and two stepsons. I have English, Maths, Accounting, Biology and Art equivalent to A levels. I am a self published author of four books currently available on Amazon. I am qualified in BSL and am three quarters of the way through finishing Level 3. I have worked in a College for the last four years so am very up to date with what is required of the GCSE English Language exam.

Availability: I am available most days after school and some evenings. I am also available on a Saturday.

Experience: I have worked in schools for the past twenty years so have experience of working with children of all different ages. I worked in a Grammar School as a dinner lady for many years before starting work in a school for the deaf in London. I learnt sign language and finished as a Communication Support Assistant helping children with all sorts of needs. Sometimes I would be in mainstream, sometimes in a class of children with learning difficulties and autism. I moved to Hampshire four years ago where I started work at Henry Beaufort in Winchester supporting deaf students in class. I then moved to Basingstoke College of Technology, supporting deaf students in lots of different subjects including English Language. I feel I have the experience to help students understand what is required in the exam. I helped a lot of students who really struggled with understanding the text, breaking down information into bite sized chunks for them to absorb. Getting to know how students work is mandatory, especially if they have barriers or behavioural issues that could hinder their results.
