Information about Margaret
I am a Wollaton based science teacher with a first degree, Masters and a PhD offering tuition in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. I have a wide range of teaching and examining experience including preparing pupils for the 11+ exam. I am also an examiner. My examining experience include SAT, GCSE and A levels. I have high expectations but tailor my approach to the learning styles of my pupils to ensure they realize their potential. As well as offering term-time tuition I also offer holiday tuition and exam preparation sessions.
Prices for lessons are charges on a pay as you go bases or discounted rates for block bookings. Please note prices quoted are for block bookings.
Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Experience: I have over 14 years experience as a science teacher. I have also been Deputy Head of Science for 3 years. I previously worked as a research scientist at the University of Nottingham. Presently I am an examiner for several exam boards and have over 5 years experience of marking exam papers.

Dr Margaret is helping my daughter prepare for her Chemistry A’ level. We have found Margaret to be very professional, patient, and calm, and is explaining things in a clear, understandable way which is really helping my daughter, who is really enjoying her sessions with her. We are delighted to have found Margaret and are already finding the sessions are very beneficial towards her A level after only a few weeks.

Dr. Margaret has started lessons in Chemistry and Biology for our son, in the interim period, prior to starting his A levels. In our discussions with Margaret, prior to starting, we found her very patient in listening to our concerns and focussed on the job in hand. Our son has found Dr. Margaret`s approach to be very straightforward, her explanation clear, precise and specific and the content of her lessons, comprehensible. Our son goes on to add that Dr. Margaret is a perfectionist who cares to come down to the level of the student to explain things and sort out outstanding issues, in a 2 way conversation with mutual respect. We are very happy with the service rendered by Dr. Margaret and hope that it leads our ward to his desired goal.

Dr Margaret helps me improve my understanding of the fundamental aspects of chemistry in a way that improves my ability to answer harder questions. She was quick to identify what needed improving and simplified the subject matter so that the information remained in my head for longer

Margaret provided excellent tutoring for my son in Chemistry A level, ensuring that he got the grade he needed for Uni entry. She was sensitive to his needs and readily produced specific lessons in discussion with him. A very experienced teacher, I would have no hesitation in recommending her.
