I am a graduate in music (with piano performance) of the University of Ulster and moved to the Sheffield area from Ireland in 1995 and now live in South Yorkshire with my wife and children. I work full time at a well regarded secondary school where I teach music at KS3, GCSE and A Level as well as organise a range of extra curricular music activities.

As a piano teacher, I have taught students from beginner to advanced levels including all grade examinations and diploma standard as well. Some of my students have successfully applied for music courses at university level and have moved on to study music full time at university. I teach adults as well as young people and can cater for students who wish to take a less formal route to learning piano
such as those who enjoy improvising, song accompaniment, busking or song writing. I also do song accompaniment so if you are a singer looking to rehearse with a pianist, this is an area of work I very much enjoy.

I hold two external diplomas in piano teaching and piano performance. The former is with Trinity College London (LTCL) and the latter with ABRSM (DipABRSM with distinction). I can also prepare students for theory grade examinations and support with aspects of GCSE and A Level music.
