Information about Urja
Hello, I`m Urja and I`ve just graduated from an undergraduate degree in History at University College London (UCL). I attended an independent school with a scholarship in London, and achieved 9A*s, 4As at GCSE and A*A*A at A Level.
I love to tutor and have been doing so for six years - in employment, on a voluntary basis, and privately. I am DBS checked for working with children.
I specialise in teaching History as this is where my passion truly lies. Having achieved the highest mark in my school in both GCSE and A -Level History, as well as full marks in my A Level coursework, I can give guidance on revision, effective source analysis and essay-writing to get you to your target grade. If you are an undergraduate History student, I am also happy to give you advice on ensuring that your essays reach the upper second class or first class threshold.

Experience: I have tutored privately, on a voluntary basis for a national charity, and in employment for a tuition centre over the past six years.
Every lesson is unique and tailored to the needs of the student. If the student is clear on their needs, we will focus on those right from the first lesson, ensuring that exam technique in particular is up to par. If the student is unsure or needs more general help, I usually conduct a short, informal test at the beginning of the first lesson to identify key areas of improvement, and form lesson plans accordingly. My teaching style is always calm, patient, and encouraging! Responding to the student`s needs and building a rapport is one of the main reasons my lessons are a success.
