I am an experienced secondary school English teacher who has worked in state and private schools in the UK and overseas. I have taught all ages and abilities, and have also done a lot of work with and tutored primary aged children. I tailor learning to the specific needs of each student building their confidence as well as their academic skills. For me, having a positive and open relationship with students is essential if they are to feel motivated and keen to learn.
I have also taught at university and have mentored students through their UCAS and Oxbridge applications, so I am well placed to advise and help with this aspect of the education system too.

Availability: I can be available at most times for online tuition. I live in Somerset and am able to travel to meet students.

Experience: I worked as a secondary English teacher for 13 years, in London, Derbyshire and Argentina.
I have tutored students for KS2 SATS, 11+, Common Entrance, GCSE and A level. I can teach English to degree level, Latin to GCSE and Maths to KS2. I have also been an AQA English Literature A level examiner.
Recently, I have been working in museums and heritage sites, developing learning and community engagement activities.
I am a Cambridge graduate and have Masters from SOAS and Glasgow, and a PhD from Sheffield.
