Information about Pam
I am an experienced tutor specialising in working with students and adults who find Maths challenging. I was a secondary school teacher for many years and then became a private tutor working with students in their homes on a one-to-one basis. I have been surrounded by numbers all my working life, starting in accounts and becoming an Accountant. After raising my family I trained to teach Adults at an FE college who wanted to improve their Maths ability to either help their own children with homework or enable them to access further education courses and increase their job opportunities. I was interested to learn why so many adults did not do well in Maths at school and progressed into secondary education where I began teaching in the SEN department of a very large school and then moved into teaching KS3 and KS4 (GCSE) Maths. I have also previously taught QTS Maths to trainee teachers of other subjects. After twelve years I progressed to working individually with underachieving students. Due to lockdown I now work predominantly online with both students and adults looking to improve their Maths ability. I am friendly, approachable and will endeavour to find a way for students to improve their Maths skills and therefore their confidence in Maths. I currently have some availability and would welcome enquiries from prospective students.

Pam helped one of my apprentices Teaching Assistant work towards her maths exam (GCSE level). Pam was so supportive to her, taking time to go through areas she struggled with, breaking learning down and sharing different methods. She was able to boost the apprentices` confidence over a number of sessions. This, combined with the skills and new knowledge taught by Pam, enabled her to pass her assessment and move to the next part of her training. Pam was flexible throughout and communication was timely. She really cared about whether the apprentice was successful. I will definitely call on Pam again if any more students needs Maths support! Thank you Pam!

Pam is very communicative about what the needs are for the student and was very communicative around dates and times. My son says that Pam breaks topics down in a way that he can understand and remember very well. He is getting a lot from the lessons.

Pam has been amazing working with our daughter to prepare for her GCSE maths. Pam is really kind and patient and instantly improved my daughters confidence after struggling with the subject at school. She went into the exams feeling well prepared due to the outstanding teaching and methods provided. I would strongly recommend Pam to all.
