I am a lawyer and teacher of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and Legal English and law.

I studied law at Bristol university and then went to Guildford Law College to do my solicitors` exams. I did my training at a local law firm and worked there as a solicitor specialising in litigation (dispute resolution) for many years. I specialised in professional negligence, general civil disputes and contentious probate.
I then spent 3 years working in London for the Law Society, followed by 7 years at the Royal Courts of Justice.
After this I trained to be a teacher of English as a foreign language and obtained my TESOL certificate in 2014. I now teach English as a foreign language and have worked in a language school in Brighton for 3 years; I teach general English from beginner to advanced level and IELTS and also Legal English.

Availability: I am available 9 to 5pm weekdays and on Saturdays. I could also do weekday evenings. I can teach online but would also be willing to come to student`s homes, if not too far away, or meet in central London, if a contribution is made to travel costs.

Experience: English is my native language and I have very good written and verbal communication skills and enjoy teaching English at all levels and to different age groups. I can help with spoken English, written work, reading, listening and grammar. I have taught IELTS for 2 years, mostly for the academic exam.

I have taught students mostly age 16+ from many different countries, including China, South Korea, the Middle East, Europe and South America. I love meeting people from all over the world and helping them improve their English and achieve their goals.

I have also taught Legal English to foreign students and lawyers and have experience teaching for the TOLES Foundation and Higher exams. I would be happy to proofread essays, subject to your university`s rules. I have a good overall knowledge of the English legal system and different areas of law.
