I am 26 years old and have been teaching History for 5 years. My experience within secondary schools has included KS3, GCSE and A-Level. My GCSE exam results have always surpassed national average and been amongst the highest across my school. Last year for example, my large mixed ability class gained 96% pass rate. I have successfully helped pupils with low targets to pass History, as well as stretching high ability pupils to achieve grade 9’s.

Besides from helping my students achieve outstanding results, pupils also benefit from a relaxed yet challenging atmosphere which enables their confidence to grow.

History is my complete passion, and is central to my life, hobbies, holidays and general reading. Pupils love to see that this is more than just a job to me and hopefully my passion in history can be shared to encourage higher achievements.

Experience: In my teaching career so far I have taught a wide age range from 11-19. One of my biggest strengths is being easily adaptable for differentiated needs. I am able to help pupils lacking confidence to pass History, as well as those pupils with high targets to achieve their grade 9’s, as well as everything in between.

I have been a GCSE exam marker for exam boards for the last 3 years. My experience of exam marking has allowed me to mark thousands of pupil answers from across the country and gain knowledge of how to achieve the highest marks in every answer. This reinforces my in depth knowledge of mark schemes, examiner tips and exam answer structures. My skills at exam marking have been graded outstanding by my lead examiners and also been used within my school to train other staff and set up pupil focus/revision groups
