I am an ex-secondary school history teacher with three years’ experience teaching covering KS3, GCSE and A-Level. I also have a years experience as an online tutor. I have a proven track record of dedication towards aiding student progression and helping them progress onto higher education, apprenticeships and work.

Through one to one tutoring, students will develop their critical thinking and be challenged appropriately to help them progress in their learning. I focus on developing key skills within the subject, such as source analysis, forming a coherent argument and detailed explanations. These are also key for GCSE and A-Level.

For GCSE, I specialise in; the USA: Conflict Home Abroad, 1954 - 75, The American West, Henry VIII and his Ministers, Crime and Punishment.

For A-Level, I specialise in coursework, USA: Civil Rights 1865 - 1990, British History 1940 - 1990.

For students studying GCSE and A-Level, I will be able to create detailed resources that assist in their studies and have a strong focus on exam technique to ensure that they can achieve well in their exams. To help with this, I provide model answers and can discuss in depth with students why they are strong answers. I also am able to provide exam practice and mark work with detailed feedback.

I bring my passion towards history and learning with me as a tutor and ability to build strong relationships with students. My calmness, empathy and sense of humour are key strengths that have helped my teaching develop and something that I take with each tutee.

Availability: I am available for tutoring (face to face and online) for History, for KS3, GCSE and A-Levels (this includes coursework research and writing) throughout the week. Times can be personalised to fit the individual needs of students.
