Information about Philip
Hi,
I am a fully qualified Mathematics teacher with an honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Manchester(2:1). I have over 10 years experience as a Tutor working across the key stages so I can tailor a study package for each student to maximize success in the shortest time period.
I am a calm and a patient tutor who believes in the importance of instilling confidence in each student. Most students struggle with mathematics because they don`t believe that they can progress in the subject. My experience has shown that this not the case and a little confidence and direction can lead to success.
I can work with any of the main exam boards at both GCSE and A-level and Further Mathematics and I will teach according to their syllabus.
I will set a Individual learning plan with each student at the first meeting so that we can establish what their aims are. Once this is clarified I monitor each week`s progress using a progress chart and set weekly homework to reinforce all the work which has been covered. The homework is not mandatory but I recommend that it is completed so that it increases the chances of success.
I am happy to tutor for entrance exams(E.g. Police, access course for university) or trainee teacher numeracy skills test. Please contact me with your needs and I will be happy to assist you.
My price list is as follows.
One-to-one at your property is £30-35/hour. £50-60 for a 2 hour session.
One-to-one at my property is £20-25/hour. £35 for a 2-hour session.

Whether you struggle with the time-tables, algebra, probability or the calculus I am sure that I will be able to help and I look forward to sharing my love of mathematics with you. Having achieved an average of 93% in A-level Mathematics including 3 modules where I scored 100%, I really can teach you what is expected to be a successful Mathematician.

The tutor has cancelled the first lesson at the very last minute, when the lesson was due to begin. He informed our son (not even ourselves) through Whatsapp about it, saying that the website is not working. It was working for us though... When we pointed this out, the tutor answered that he will not tutor our son because computer issues are too frustrating. This is a rather irresponsible behaviour, unfortunately.

Philip tutored my grandson for Maths GCSE. My grandson has always found Maths a very challenging subject but Philip took the time to explain the subject to him and was extremely patient.
