I have enjoyed a passion for mathematics since studying for A Levels in the early 1980s. I graduated from Cambridge with a second-class maths degree in 1985, and whilst my career has been in financial services, I have tutored maths regularly since 2011. My philosophy is to make the student feel relaxed and re-assure them that they rn best from trying, making mistakes and trying again.

Experience: My students range from GCSE through to A Level Further Maths. I only teach Pure (Core) and Mechanics at Advanced Levels as my last experience of advanced statistics is too long ago! I also teach a “Conversion Course” for students preparing to study physics and engineering who haven’t taken A Level Further Maths. A quick course on essential topics to avoid that nightmare first maths lecture!

As I am semi-retired, availability is extensive and not restricted to weekends, evenings and school holidays, but happy to teach at any time to suit the student. Available in person at home or online.
