Hello, I`m Mary!

I have a PhD in Neurobiology from University College London and now work as a neuroscientist, have over 8 years of experience in tutoring all ages and over 24 years of experience being a student; meaning I know the daily and longterm struggles that come with being a student.

My teaching style centres lessons around the individual needs of the student and, if applicable, the parent/guardian. I also provide homework help, set weekly tasks, review and provide crucial feedback on essays to help attain high grades and mentor students who someday wish to pursue higher education.

With their cooperation, I help my students achieve the grades they want with extra exam practise, inviting them to attempt levels higher than they would expect themselves to be able to achieve and complete them successfully. By doing this, my students gain the confidence and academic skills they need to tackle new material and do their best in their exams.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, I am offering the option for online tutoring to minimise risk to all parties.

Experience: I`ve been tutoring for 8 years and have given over 400 hours of lessons (on and outside of TutorHunt). I tutor English, Maths, Chemistry and Physics up to A Level and Biology up to and beyond university level. I have experience teaching students at all levels of their subject aged from 3 years old up to 80 years old, so no one should shy away from their chance to attain their very best.

Aside from tutoring, I am also a professional science writer and have experience in editing and can provide feedback on essays and important documents that need to be in top shape.
