Information about Aisha

I am a conscientious and emotionally intelligent individual currently studying BSc Mathematics. I am looking for an opportunity to work in the field of teaching as I believe that my communication and collaborative skills would be useful in such an environment. While this is my future ambition, I am still searching for other opportunities to enhance my skills in the workplace, which would help me to strive further and succeed in my future job role.

Availability: I am available only for online tutoring

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have worked as a research assistant:
This role consists of conducting research investigating how best to support children who struggle with reading in the early primary years. This role allows me to develop my research skills and independence. I need to liaise with teachers and other researchers to arrange the research, conduct data collection, preliminary analyses, and dissemination the research to teachers, pupils, and parents.

The data collection took place in a welcoming primary school called Parkfield Community School, whereas data entry, analysis, and report writing took place at Aston University. This role provided an opportunity to gain an understanding of developmental psychology research and develop skills in research methods and analysis. In addition, I gained organizational and communication skills through working in school settings. This placement, therefore, provides an excellent experience for a career in research, and education in a clinical setting.

I have also worked as a Mentor online and in a secondary school:
This was allocated by the outreach team at Aston University, and providing support to young students in year 9 who are facing educational inequty due to their backgrounds, helped me become more organized because every mentee had different needs so I had to use my time management skills wisely to make sure I covered all the required content in my 1 hour weekly mentoring sessions.

My mentees and I set goals together to be on track with work, whilst making sure I was giving the right resources they preferred. This role involves teamwork and time management as we work together to achieve a certain amount of work within a specific timeframe.
