Information about Steve

If I were to summarise my personal qualities for tutoring they would be a very approachable, calm, empathetic manner with a good sense of humour. My delivery is based upon the exact needs and learning skills of the individual. I am very focused upon working back to first principles when honing subject knowledge. There is always more than one way of explaining concepts!

I have many interests outside of work including a passion for foreign travel, cooking and am an avid musician.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: I have spent my entire career since graduating in Pharmaceutical Science within the Pharmaceutical Industry.

My background lies firmly in the research and development sector, and my specialism is in Analytical Chemistry. Latterly I was responsible for managing and leading a team of scientists in the development and validation of new analytical methods to support pharmaceutical product development and assist in securing the necessary data for submission of New Drug Applications.

I also have vast experience working with and mentoring young recruits into the company. This involved working with people of very different backgrounds and ability, providing technical support as well as being a pastoral mentor for their early years.

I was also responsible for a large amount of input into marketing material, including writing a number of scientific white papers as a subject matter expert and acting as a consultant for our customers.

In my extensive experience I have not only been part of a large number of strategic teams, but have also led a large number of very complex projects and through this developed the ability to communicate complex information to individuals at all levels in a manner that is appropriate for their experience. This took a new direction in the past few years whereby I have been working as a tutor for the external training team, compiling presentations and resources to deliver high quality pharmaceutical training to groups of delegates. i was also invited by the Royal Society of Chemistry to present/speak on a number of areas of expertise, and sit on various panel discussions to influence industry perspectives and challenge current ways of thinking.
