Information about Karl
I hold a First Class Master`s degree in Physics from Oxford. From my years of experience teaching online, in person and in the classroom, I have found my students have always achieved the most when they actually enjoy the subject and tutorials. I therefore try to share my passion and enthusiasm for Physics and Maths as much as possible! I can also help with university applications (especially preparation for PAT and Oxford interviews) and I`m always happy to give handy hints if you message me with questions you are puzzling over outside of lesson time.
Availability: Available for lessons at most normal times!
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring over the last 6 years via Tutorhunt (mainly in person but some online). I have worked with a range of abilities, from students just trying to pass exams all the way up to Oxbridge applications. I also have experience working in the classroom as I volunteered at a school teaching extracurricular maths classes. My experience working with students runs beyond just the academic - I organised and ran two summer camps (each with around 80 participants) as well as being a Senior Mentor with the NCS summer course for a month and a House Parent at Discovery Summer. The training and experience gained from all this should hopefully result in engaging and helpful tutoring.

Feedback For Karl (9)

From our first communications Karl was very quick to respond and very accommodating. He is an excellent Physics A level tutor who was approachable, (particularly puting at ease a slightly reluctant tutee who has always achieved high grades without help) encouraging and even answered questions by email outside tutorials. I would recommend him highly.

Karl has been an amazing person in supporting my daughter. He had a truly great approach to keep her goals met by using his adaptable and highly professional work ethics. We found him as a excellent tutor who holds great depth and breath of knowledge in physics. He was also very personable in his approach, which is rare amongst many.

Karl has a clear love for Physics which is shown through his concise explanations. His knowledge of the subject and tips for exams have developed my understanding of the topics we have covered. The use of graphs is especially useful in the lessons along with his encouragement to do quick estimations in your head to check if an answer seems reasonable. Karl also offers great advice for the university admission process with help for both personal statements and also Oxbridge entrance exams.
