Experience: I have been working for Glasgow City Council as an Upper Strings Instructor teaching Violin and Viola for 5 years. I tutor and conduct many ensembles in my schools and for the Glasgow Council Create Groups. I also have a number of private pupils and regularly cover classes at the weekend for colleagues. During my studies before taking my job with Glasgow City Council I was an Upper Strings Tutor for MusicWorks at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Throughout the years I have attended many courses and carried out a lot of reading to further advance my teaching skills and knowledge. The most recent being a Paul Rolland Pedagogy Course in Chichester ran by the European String Teacher`s Association.I am very passionate about the benefits and importance of learning a musical instrument in a child`s education. The most important thing is for the student to enjoy the lessons and playing an instrument. I am more than happy to incorporate whatever the student would like to learn as well as making sure to have a good solid technique and foundation. I am a real people person who is very passionate about my teaching through encouraging students and building their confidence. I am more than happy teaching online and I have been using Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
