Information about Scarlett
Hi, Im Scarlett and I am a recent history graduate from Regents Park College, University of Oxford. Throughout my degree, which has specialised in the area of medieval European studies, I have developed stellar communication skills through rigorous academic training in both my written and oral work. I have consistently produced high-quality work demonstrating my ability to examine historical material, both primary sources and secondary scholarship.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: My academic credentials reflect my commitment to my studies and the practice of learning itself. From GCSE level I have maintained a strong work ethic which has facilitated my studies at a university which consistently scores top of the global league tables.
Although I am incredibly proud of my achievements, which have relied much upon a mastery of my chosen subject content, I remain committed to the belief that good technique and a positive mindset are instrumental to achieving superb results. These are transferable skills which can be utilised across all areas of a students studies, from GCSE Mathematics to A-Level Geography. In order to provide the most effective help to students whether this involves remedial tutoring or coaching high-achieving students for the HAT (Oxford history admissions test) I confine my area of tutoring to topics I have studied most intensely. I excel in my handling of English Literature, having obtained two A*s at GCSE level (English Language, English Literature) and an A* at A-Level (AQA English Literature B-option) and am able to provide students with high-quality coaching in both close-textual and thematic analysis. In addition, I can provide tuition in both GCSE and A-Level Geography having achieved the grades A* and A in both qualifications respectively. My specification for the Geography A-Level paper was Edexcel, and I am happy to impart my knowledge of technique and content, whether this involves going through past-papers with students or explaining key geographic processes so as to enhance class-learning.
Historical studies remain my main focus, and I wish to impart the same level of enthusiasm and excitement through the subject matter as my Oxford tutors have given to me. I am particularly eager to provide support through the coursework module of A-Level history, in which I achieved full marks. In addition to aiding students with their exam technique, content matter and revision structure, I can further supply specific tutoring for the Oxbridge admissions test for this subject.
