Information about Charlie
My name is Charlie Woof-Byrne and I am a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music where I studied Piano. I was awarded a First Class BMus. I have performed in many countries including Italy and France, and have been a prize winner in some national competitions. I have a great love for chamber music and as well as solo performance. I also play the violin.
Availability: Please inquire about availability and timings for lessons.
Willing to travel: 4 miles
Experience: I have been teaching piano for over 6 years, and am experienced with both adults and children. I am happy to teach from beginner to beyond Grade 8 standard. I really love teaching and aim to give my pupils a strong technique and understanding of music, but just as importantly, to show them just how fascinating the world of piano is! I really want to pass on my love for music.
My degree training is Classical, however, I can also teach jazz and pop styles if pupils are interested in that. I am experienced in taking students through the Grades and am very happy to do so, but am not wedded to that method: every pupil is different and needs a different approach.
I work in London, mostly teaching in North West and Central, but can go to other areas. In terms of qualifications I have a First Class BMus from the Royal Academy of Music, and am also DBS checked.
If you would like to inquire about teaching, or to ask me any questions, feel free to send me an email. If it then seems good to talk on the phone we can do so.
My rates are somewhat flexible, depending on travel time, but I usually charge £40/hour. I am happy to travel to student for lessons, or to teach at my house, which is in Kilburn. Alternatively, there are other teaching locations I sometimes use in central London.
