Information about Rebecca
**Please note that I am unavailable for tutoring from 2 January 2016 - 2 January 2017, as I will be travelling and teaching overseas**
At school I was a dedicated student who not only took control of my own learning, by that of others too. I tutored throughout the GCSE exam period as well as studying for my own, and achieved 9 A* and 3 A grades.
Since then, I have continued to tutor GCSEs. I offer a learning approach that at first may seem bizarre (lots of repetition, hand gestures, lots of laughs, and sometimes even a bit of singing) but aim to bring out the best in students by increasing their confidence in themselves.
Teaching is a passion of mine and so sessions are always fun and varied. I know exactly how it feels to be going through the tough final years of school, so appreciate that a different style of learning out of school hours can really be the extra boost to your studies.
I am happy to tutor any subject, although my strengths lie in GCSE biology, chemistry, physics, maths and French.
Availability: Weekday evenings, all day weekends
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: Teaching peers throughout the exam period, and going on to paid tuition, starting in late 2013.
April/May 2014 - I spent three weeks teaching English to orphaned children in Sri Lanka
August 2014 - I spent two weeks in Vietnam teaching English to university students.
Exam season 2015 - Nine months of tuition taking a Year 11 pupil through her GCSE science exams, predicted three As and achieving three A*s
Exam season 2015 - Twelve months of tuition taking an E/D grade student through their GCSE maths exam, and achieving a C grade

Rebecca helped me with my maths, at school nothing made sense but then suddenly it clicked and I started to get it. Her teaching is fun and on a level that I understood. I failed my mocks but after 6 months of tuition I have just passed my GCSE. Thank you Rebecca I could not have done it without you.
