Information about Sidrah

Tutoring since age 16, I have had plenty of rewarding experiences with my students, helping them gain confidence and grades in the STEM subjects.
With high GCSE results, I went on to study my A-levels in Maths, Chemistry and Biology, deepening my knowledge of the subject, which helped further my understanding which was key to allowing me to explain coherently key points when working with my students.

Although I had an unconditional offer from my university, I decided to take a year out, and took on a job role within Education.
Becoming a SEN Teaching Assistant at a secondary school helped hone and expand my teaching skills, while also giving my SEN Students the opportunity to get further, and it was rewarding to see those positive results.
Students I taught included those with ADHD or ASD tendencies, and / or SEND needs, and this has meant that I had to pay extra attention to their specific learning needs, adapt my teaching style to suit their learning style, and find alternative methods of teaching concepts, all whilst keeping their attention and maintaining a positive working environment. My role also requires me to use frequent and varied assessment practices to ascertain each student`s level of development in their learning, and to monitor their progress accordingly towards appropriate goals and targets.

I quickly became a Level 3 Science tutor within that same school, working with students in year 10 and 11 with their GCSE science, identifying gaps in their previous knowledge, and working towards improving their confidence and knowledge in time with their GCSEs, and this is something I still currently do.

My job role and educational background make me a young, enthusiastic tutor, with experience in and around education, while also achieving results.
