Information about Gowsika
I thoroughly enjoy tutoring in my spare time. I am a medical doctor and currently undertaking Global Health Research. Currently, I am collaborating with the World Health Organisation on Malaria Vector Control and work alongside with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine`s department and Public Health division at University of Nottingham.
My passion to teach started when I was in grammar school where I was recommended by my French and Maths teacher to tutor current students. As I progressed with my studies I kept tutoring and coaching primary and secondary school students, A-Level and university students as well as adult learners.
Seeing my students improve and understand complicated concepts inspired me to keep teaching.
I have achieved academic excellence throughout my studies receiving entrance scholarships and various awards at A-level and University. I have studied and worked in Germany, UK, North and Central America. Being born in Germany and having studied in the UK, I am fluent in English and German and also completed a French A-level. I enjoy speaking languages and my mother language is Tamil.
Starting from humble beginnings in a working class family, I have been determined to make the most of my opportunities. My parents relentless support guided my personal ambition for academic excellence and sculpted me into the confident, self-driven doctor I am today.
I know how hard it can be to succeed in higher education and your career. I want to help eager students to pursue their dreams as you need more than just good grades to succeed in life.
Availability: I can work around schedules when we plan ahead.
Weekends need to be discussed on week by week basis.
I teach per session = 45mins and not per hour.
I recommend 2 sessions per meeting at least once a week. I wil take a 5-10 mins break between each session to consolidate the material we cover. I have used this technique for all my tutor students, which has proven to be very effective and successful.

Gowsi is a really humble and intelligent person. She is committed to her students and really believes in helping them achieve their goal. We had a lovely few sessions speaking German and helped to boost my confidence in my studies. I would highly recommend.
