Information about Wendy
With a BA (hons), an MEd and a PGCE and having lived and worked in Germany (both East and West) for 7 years I am a very well-qualified specialist teacher of German.
I also have more than 30 years` teaching experience in schools/colleges of further education and am now specialising in teaching the areas I love the most: GCSE and A level German and GCSE French. I have helped numerous students to gain really good grades in their GCSE and A level exams over the years and have lots and lots of interesting supplementary GCSE and A level material. I help students to improve their skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing and I am an expert in explaining grammar which students often find quite daunting! I can also provide exam practice in all four skills.
I have taught students following the AQA, Edexcel, Eduqas and IGCSE syllabus and am currently working part-time for an internationally renowned home-schooling organisation as a teacher and marker .I am also very familiar with the AQA and Eduqas A level exam syllabus. Wendy recently provided GCSE German tutoring (online) for my son in the last few months of year 11. I sought a tutor because my son was struggling with German, not enjoying it, demotivated and his predicted grade was lower than all his other subjects. Wendy was very professional, had good communication with us throughout and emailed worksheets and materials before the start of each lesson. She formed a good relationship with my son, which increased his confidence. As a result, his German teacher at school noticed an improvement in his performance in class and his test results and suggested that rather than enter him for the intermediate GCSE paper (which had been his suggested path and allows a top mark of grade 5), that he be entered for the higher paper. He ended up achieving a grade 6 at GCSE German, which I am confident would not have been possible without Wendy`s tutoring. I have no hesitation in recommending Wendy as a German GCSE tutor.

Wendy has been a fabulous find for my year 9 home-educated son. She is organised and always well-prepared. She always adapts the next lesson to cover things if it becomes clear that there are gaps in his knowledge. She is very patient with him, whilst also making sure he doesn`t `get away with anything` - especially pronunciation. She has been very flexible around our timetable - which is just what we need. I`d highly recommend her and hope that we will be using her services right through to GCSE / IGCSE level.

We have been very impressed with Wendy. She was very welcoming at our first lesson and quickly adapted it to what we wanted to cover. The following lessons (and homework!) have concentrated on our required topics and have been extremely well prepared.
