Hola, everybody! My name is Lewis, a 22 year old language student based here in Southampton. Learning a language, for me, is not just a fantastic skill to have on your CV in today`s increasingly globalised world, but also, it allows you to gain an understanding of another way of life, all from the comfort of your own homes.

Ever since I can remember languages have been my window to the world, so allow me as your tutor to help you open yourself up just that little bit more and improve your knowledge of one of the world`s most widely spoken and fastest growing foreign languages: Spanish!

After self-teaching myself Spanish to GCSE level at the age of 14, Spanish has become not only my specialist area of study, but also a labour of love. I studied the language at both A-Level, where I achieved an A* grade, as well as at the University of Southampton, where I am on course for a first-class honors degree in Spanish and Portuguese. I have also spent time living in Spain, on the sunny island of Fuerteventura, the summer after I left sixth form college, meaning I have excellent knowledge of everyday-spoken Spanish as well as the academic Spanish required to score highly at GCSE, AS and A2 levels to share with you. Life (and language learning) is not just about exams, but they are a crucial foundation!

As part of my teaching practices, I offer:

- Tuition for exams at GCSE level
- Tuition for exams at AS & A2 level
- Focus on techniques to improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills
- Use of innovative teaching resources and methods,
- Vast knowledge of Spanish literature, media and popular music, allowing me to tailor the use of teaching materials to you,

My ultimate aim is to make learning as fun and as relevant to your own tastes as possible! Languages are not just about learning grammar from a book - how about subjunctives through Shakira or vocabulary learning through space invader games?

Languages, and Spanish in particular, are something that I hold very close to my heart and I hope to be able to share this love of language learning with you. As both a fellow foreign language learner and recent GCSE/A-Level exam-sitter I know exactly the challenges you face but also possess the experience and knowledge of how to overcome them.

Experience: I have experience of informal tutoring, in both foreign languages and in my own native language, as well as experience as a trainee English as a Foreign Language teacher following an internship with a private language school in Brazil.
