Information about Martyn
I am a Maths, Computer Science and ICT tutor working in North and South Tyneside, Newcastle and Northumberland. I have recently left the teaching profession after 14 years of teaching in schools and prior to this I worked as a software engineer in the private sector. I am DBS cleared and am a qualified teacher who is DFES registered.
Away from teaching I run STEM events and programming workshops. I am also a scout leader am involved with a local circus.
Availability: Currently I am only doing online tuition but I do have more time available than just the evenings which may suit you.

Experience: My initial background is in engineering with an Electronic Engineering degree. This has proven vital in my work as a teacher as it provides a practical background to the subjects and skills being learnt.
I have worked for 14 years as a teacher and have taught age ranges from 11 to 18 in Computer Science and ICT covering GCSE and A-level courses as well as being a Key Stage 3 and GCSE Maths teacher.
In my time as a teacher I have created and published resources that have been used by others and developed approaches to delivering the subjects that have been adopted in the school as our approach to delivery.
I have had excellent results and in Computer Science I have delivered in the top 10% in the country for value added for the students in my classes.
I have also works as a private tutor for 2 years focusing on 1 to 1 and small groups. The results the students have achieved are all a minimum of 1 grade higher than their school prediction.
I have experience in training teachers.
I worked as a Software Engineer engineer in the private sector with experience in designing IT solutions to meeting and dealing with clients from many different backgrounds.
