I am an experienced and qualified History, Humanities and RS teacher, who has worked in state schools/colleges and delivering online tutoring for 10 years.

I have a friendly approach and a supportive nature as well as a sense of fun and delight. I have a good understanding of online learning tools and engagement.

I have particular experience working with young people with ADHD, ASD and physical and sensory disabilities as well as ability to support learners who may have additional demands on their time and wellbeing such as carers, mental health difficulties and health problems. I have a range of approaches for helping young people to access and understand History.

I currently work managing a Young Carers team on Monday to Friday during the day. Although I no longer teach in the classroom, I am still greatly involved in the education system and have a very good understanding of some of the issues and concerns young people can sometimes have around learning.

I am very empathetic and patient but also willing to push children to succeed by supporting and nurturing their talents.

Availability: I am available on a flexible basis weekday evenings. I can also do weekends on a more ad hoc basis as well as extra sessions in school holidays.

Experience: I have taught History from KS3 to A level. I am a GCSE examiner for AQA (Syllabus B). I have taught both AQA and Edexcel at A level, most recently working in the History department at BHASVIC so have a good understanding of their course and modules.

My particular specialisms are Medieval History, The Cold War, Vietnam, 20th C China, US Civil Rights and 20th C Revolution & Conflict. At KS3 I have taught a broad spectrum of topics.

I have also taught and delivered Entry Level History, Humanities and RE and GCSE Humanities and RE. I have also taught AS Critical Thinking as part of the AQA Baccalaureate. I have also delivered work skills courses, UCAS sessions and been a pastoral tutor for a range of year groups.

I have been tutoring for 8 years.
