I`m married with four children and have lived in the North Lincolnshire area since 2003. I previously worked as a journalist in the Manchester area and hold a first class honours degree in English and History. I particularly enjoy watching the self-confidence of a student grow as they learn a firm mastery of the basics of a subject. That commitment to the foundations of my subject forms the basis
of my approach to teaching.

Availability: I currently home-school my 13-year-old son, recently leaving mainstream teaching for this purpose and to enjoy a better quality of family life through employment as a private tutor. As a result I am available to suit clients and students at their convenience by negotiation.

Experience: I`m a qualified secondary school teacher specialising in English and History and have taught in several local secondary schools and academies. My main focus has been Years 7 to 11 and I have experience of several exam boards. I also have experience teaching at A Level. My professional strengths are behaviour management as well as extensive experience adapting teaching to a range of ability levels. I have worked extensively with children with a range of SEN.
