Information about Amber
A qualified English language and literature lecturer and examiner with over fifteen years of experience in education. Patient, empathetic and passionate about my subject. I tutor all secondary school levels, GCSE, A Level and degree level.
Availability: My availability is mostly on Saturdays at present but I have a few weekday slots available.
Please note that I do not offer free taster sessions.

Experience: I have taught English Language and Literature, ESOL and Literacy, from secondary to adult education. I qualified with a PGCE in Further, Higher and Adult Education in 2002. I also gained a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages in 2012. I have a BA Hons and an MA in English Studies and have been an examiner in English GCSE, AS and A Level since 2006 and a Team Leader for a team of examiners in 2019. I am currently studying for my PhD in English Literature.

Amber was a great help in overcoming my son`s English literature theory, giving a wide variety of resources like concise quotes for each character and theme, and also focused on my son`s biggest weaknesses to help improve his scores steadily. She also helped my son diversify his ideas for the creative writing in English language paper, helping him refine his ideas and put them on paper successfully. Amber`s deep understanding of the curriculum and exam techniques made a huge difference. Thank you, Amber, for your guidance. I wish you all the best.

Amber has been teaching GCSE Level English to my daughte for several years. She is a great teacher and focusses on building the necessary skills in the student. She has helped my daughter core English skills. My daughter enjoys her classes and always looks forward to having sessions. She finds her explanations very clear and easy to understand. Amber is very polite and flexible with classes. She has been so kind to keep checking with us on my daughter`s results even after her exams. I would highly recommend Amber to anyone considering additional help in English.

I highly recommend Amber, she is an amazing teacher who make the lessons interesting enough for students. I am a fussy parent/mum and my daughter Chloe looses interesting in lesson very quickly BUT i found Amber very knowledgeable and she knows how to make the lessons interesting and engaging. I feel very lucky to have Amber teaching my daughter for GCSE and im sure we will come back for more lesson for A-level. Dear Amber, a very big thank you for all the hard work. Abi
