I currently work as a Head of Department in a local secondary school which has since been graded Outstanding. Our students in English currently achieve above National average and progress better than students in similar secondary settings. Over my teaching career I have specialised in the designing and application of English curriculums to ensure students are best prepared for their GCSEs and we have adopted a concise and tangible method for approaching each aspect of their GCSE and A Level examinations with great success.

Although my approach is primarily focused on examination success and accelerating student progress, I also use stimulus and materials to promote a love of English and I believe vocabulary is paramount to a students success both in school and in the wider world. Therefore, explicit vocabulary teaching is something I always embed in my teaching.

Experience: 8+ plus years tutoring experience including GCSE Literature and Language and A-level Literature as well as KS3 English and 11+/SATs prep.

10+ years teaching experience.

MA in Education from University College of London.
